League II 2026 Group B Round 18 Recap

🏆 League 2 – Group B

2026 Season – Round 18 Recap (of 46)

We’ve reached the 18-match mark in a demanding 46-round season, and Group B is delivering one of the tightest promotion races across all divisions.

🔝 Automatic Promotion Spot

1️⃣ FC Schalke 04 (GER) – 41 pts
Schalke sit top of the table and currently hold the automatic promotion spot to the World Premier League. With 13 wins from 18 matches and a strong +24 goal difference (52 scored), they’ve built a narrow but important lead.

However, the gap is slim — one slip could change everything.

🎟️ Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

The fight for playoff positioning is extremely competitive:

2️⃣ Vasco Da Gama – 38 pts
3️⃣ Inter – 36 pts
4️⃣ Atalanta – 36 pts
5️⃣ Hannover 96 – 34 pts
6️⃣ ACF Fiorentina – 33 pts
7️⃣ Atlético Mineiro – 29 pts
8️⃣ Arminia – 29 pts
9️⃣ Desna – 26 pts

Just 15 points separate 2nd from 9th, and several clubs are only separated by goal difference. Inter and Atalanta are level on 36, while the Brazilian and German sides are stacking up just behind.

Desna currently holds the final playoff place, but the cushion is thin.

⚖️ Just Outside the Playoffs

🔟 Busan Park FC – 25 pts
Busan would qualify for the Friendly Cup if the season ended today, sitting just one point outside the playoff zone.

1️⃣1️⃣ Lille OSC – 23 pts
Lille occupy the King’s Cup spot, but they remain very much within reach of the top nine.

With 28 rounds still to play, this section of the table could see major swings in the coming weeks.

⚠️ Relegation Battle

The bottom of Group B is starting to stretch out:

23️⃣ Monaco FC – 15 pts
24️⃣ Africa Sports FC – 12 pts

These two currently occupy the relegation spots to League III. Africa Sports are struggling defensively with one of the worst goal differences in the group.

Just above the drop zone:

  • Deportivo FAS – 17 pts

  • Charlton – 18 pts

  • Stade Brestois – 19 pts

The survival race is far from settled, but momentum will be crucial heading into the middle stretch of the season.

📊 Mid-Season Outlook

At Round 18:

  • Schalke lead, but the promotion race is far from decided.

  • The playoff battle (2nd–9th) is tightly packed.

  • Busan and Lille are within striking distance of the top nine.

  • The relegation fight is intensifying, with several clubs in danger.

With 28 matches still remaining, consistency will define who rises to the World Premier League — and who falls to League III.

Group B is wide open.
