Group D is shaping up to be one of the most competitive divisions in League 2 this season. With 24 rounds completed, promotion, playoffs, and relegation battles are all wide open.
🔝 Automatic Promotion Spot
1️⃣ Corinthians (BRA) – 50 pts
Corinthians sit at the top of the table and currently hold the automatic promotion spot to the World Premier League. With 16 wins and 56 goals scored, they’ve combined consistency with attacking strength. However, their lead is slim, and the pressure from below is intense.
🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)
2️⃣ Club Destroyers (BOL) – 50 pts
Level on points with Corinthians but trailing on tiebreakers. Destroyers are in prime position to challenge for automatic promotion.
3️⃣ Peñarol (URU) – 48 pts
4️⃣ Banfield (ARG) – 47 pts
Both clubs are firmly in the mix and within touching distance of first place.
5️⃣ Aston Villa (UK) – 46 pts
Strong offensive numbers (70 goals scored) keep Villa dangerous in the promotion race.
6️⃣ Always Ready (BOL) – 43 pts
Holding steady inside the playoff zone but with little room for error.
7️⃣ FC Nantes (FRA) – 40 pts
8️⃣ Guayaquil City (ECU) – 40 pts
9️⃣ Bolton Wanderers (UK) – 39 pts
The final playoff positions are tightly contested. Just four points separate 6th from 9th — and several teams below are within striking distance.
🏅 Special Qualification Spots
🔟 Unión La Calera (CHI) – 35 pts
Currently qualifying for the Friendly Cup. Still within range of the playoffs but must improve consistency.
1️⃣1️⃣ Al Masry SC (EGY) – 35 pts
Holding the King’s Cup spot, level on points with 10th but behind in the standings order.
⚖️ Mid-Table Traffic
From El Nacional (33 pts) down to SV Meppen (26 pts), the middle of the table is packed. A two- or three-game winning streak could instantly push a club into playoff contention — or drag them into a relegation fight.
FSV Mainz 05 and Bella Vista are dangerously close to the bottom cluster and need points quickly.
🚨 Relegation Zone
23️⃣ K.R.C. Genk (BEL) – 14 pts
Struggling heavily with just 2 wins in 24 matches and a -29 goal difference.
24️⃣ Canon Yaoundé (CMR) – 11 pts
Bottom of the table and in serious trouble. With 60 goals conceded and only 4 wins, survival looks increasingly difficult.
Just above them, Rio Ave (19 pts) are also in danger and cannot afford a prolonged slump.
