League II 2026 Group A Round 15 Recap

League 2 – Group A

2026 Season • Round 15 Recap (of 46)

After 15 rounds, League 2 Group A is starting to take shape, but with 31 matches still to play, nothing is locked in yet. Promotion dreams, playoff races, and relegation fears are already heating up.

🔝 Promotion Race (1st place)

Chankas CYC (PER) sit alone at the top with 35 points, boasting the league’s best goal difference (+20). Their recent form has been excellent, and if they can maintain this pace, they are currently the strongest candidates for automatic promotion to the World Premier League.

Hot on their heels:

  • AC Milan (ITA) – 33 pts

  • Pachuca (MEX) – 33 pts

Both are applying serious pressure and remain well within striking distance of first place.

🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

The playoff spots are packed and highly competitive, with just a handful of points separating teams.

Currently inside the playoff places:
2. AC Milan (ITA) – 33 pts
3. Pachuca (MEX) – 33 pts
4. Vancouver Whitecaps – 29 pts
5. Fulham (UK) – 28 pts
6. Ajax (NEATH) – 26 pts
7. Caracas FC (VEN) – 26 pts
8. Fortaleza (BRA) – 25 pts
9. Cartaginés (CRT) – 25 pts

Several clubs just outside the top five are in great position to surge upward, making the playoff battle one of the most exciting storylines so far.

🏆 Cup Qualification Spots

  • 10th place – Friendly Cup:
Botafogo (BRA) (24 pts) currently hold this spot, but they’re only a good run away from re-entering the playoff picture.

  • 11th place – King’s Cup:
FC Copenhagen (DK) (22 pts) sit here for now, hovering between cup qualification and a push toward the top nine.

⚠️ Mid-Table Tension (12th–21st)

Teams like Middlesbrough, Tout Puissant Mazembe, and Bahía are stuck in the middle — too far from immediate danger, but inconsistent enough that a bad stretch could pull them downward quickly.

This section of the table is volatile, and momentum will be key heading into the next phase of the season.

🔻 Relegation Zone (23rd–24th)

At the bottom, the pressure is already intense:

  • Raja (MOR) – 9 pts

  • Defence Force (TB) – 7 pts

If the season ended now, these two clubs would be relegated to League III. With over half the season remaining, they’ll need urgent improvements to survive.

📊 Big Picture

  • 1st place: Promoted to World Premier League

  • 2nd–9th: Playoffs

  • 10th: Friendly Cup

  • 11th: King’s Cup

  • 23rd–24th: Relegation to League III

  • Rounds played: 15 / 46

Round 15 confirms one thing: Group A is wide open. Promotion is still anyone’s game, the playoff line is razor-thin, and the relegation battle is already ruthless. The next few rounds could completely reshape the table.
