League II 2026 Group D Round 15 Recap

🏆 League 2 – Group D

2026 Season | Round 15 Recap

With 15 of 46 rounds completed, League 2 Group D is developing into a tightly contested division, featuring a strong promotion leader, a crowded playoff race, and a tense relegation battle.

🔝 Automatic Promotion Spot

Corinthians (BRA) lead the table with 32 points and currently hold the automatic promotion place to the World Premier League. Their consistency and solid balance at both ends of the pitch have made them the benchmark team after Round 15.

🎯 Playoff Contenders (2nd–9th)

The playoff race remains wide open, with several clubs separated by only a few points:

  • 2nd – FC Nantes (FRA)

  • 3rd – Aston Villa (UK)

  • 4th – Al Masry SC (EGP)

  • 5th – Club Destroyers (BOL)

  • 6th – Peñarol (URU)

  • 7th – Banfield (ARG)

  • 8th – Guayaquil City (ECU)

  • 9th – Always Ready (BOL)

With minimal gaps between these sides, momentum swings could quickly reshuffle the playoff picture in the coming rounds.

🟡 Cup Qualification Zone

  • 10th – Bolton Wanderers (UK) currently sit in the Friendly Cup qualification spot.

  • 11th – Real Sociedad (SPA) occupy the King’s Cup place, narrowly missing out on the playoffs.

Both clubs remain well-positioned to challenge the top nine as the season continues.

🔻 Relegation Battle

At the bottom of the table, the relegation danger zone is taking shape:

  • 23rd – K.R.C. Genk (BEL)

  • 24th – Canon Yaoundé (CMR)

These two teams currently face relegation to League III, but with 31 rounds still to play, survival is far from impossible if form improves.

📊 Season Outlook

Group D has delivered balance and unpredictability so far. Corinthians lead the way, but the playoff race is crowded and competitive, while the relegation fight is already intense. With plenty of football left in this 46-round season, every result from here on out will carry serious weight.

League 2 Group D is set for a dramatic long-haul campaign.
