League II 2026 Group A Round 33 Recap

League 2 – Group A | 2026 Season – Round 33 Recap

With 33 of 46 rounds completed, the table is tightening in key areas—especially around playoff positioning and the relegation battle. Here’s how things stand:

🔝 Title Race & Promotion Picture

Vancouver Whitecaps FC remain firmly in control at the top with 73 points. Their dominant form (4 wins in last 5) keeps them on track for automatic promotion to the World Premier League.

Chankas CYC and AC Milan continue the chase, both sitting on 72 and 71 points respectively. The gap is razor-thin—any slip from Vancouver could shake up the top spot quickly.

F.C. Copenhagen and Pachuca round out a very strong top five, all but securing playoff spots already.

🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

The playoff race is highly competitive:

  • Caracas FC (6th, 64 pts) is in excellent form and climbing.

  • Botafogo (7th, 59 pts) and Atletico Indio (8th, 58 pts) are holding steady.

  • Fulham (9th, 54 pts) clings to the final playoff spot but is struggling with poor recent form.

Just outside:

  • Ajax (10th, 54 pts) is level on points with Fulham but currently misses out—only qualifying for the Friendly Cup spot. Their recent form suggests they could break back into the top 9 soon.

🏆 Mid-Table Stakes

  • Fortaleza (11th, 51 pts) currently holds the King’s Cup qualification spot but is under pressure from Middlesbrough (44 pts) and Sol de América (39 pts).

  • Positions 12–16 are still fluid, with teams capable of pushing upward—or being dragged into trouble.

⚠️ Relegation Battle (23rd–24th)

The bottom of the table is becoming clearer:

  • Dalian Shide (23rd, 26 pts) is in serious danger despite a slight uptick.

  • Defence Force (24th, 13 pts) looks all but doomed, with the worst goal difference and form in the league.

Just above:

  • Raja (22nd, 26 pts) and FC Midtjylland (21st, 29 pts) are far from safe and need immediate results.

📊 Form Watch

  • 🔥 Caracas FC: One of the hottest teams right now, pushing toward the top five.

  • 📉 Fulham & Ajax: Inconsistent form could cost them playoff places.

  • 🚨 Bottom 5 teams: Very little consistency—relegation fight remains open (except possibly last place).

🧭 What to Watch Next

  • Can Vancouver maintain their lead under pressure?

  • Who wins the tight playoff battle between 7th–11th?

  • Will any team escape the relegation zone late in the season?

With 13 rounds remaining, everything is still in play—from promotion glory to relegation heartbreak.
