League II 2026 Group A Round 27 Recap

League 2 – Group A

2026 Season – Round 27 Recap (of 46)

With 27 of 46 rounds completed, the promotion race and playoff battle are heating up as the table begins to take clearer shape.

🔝 Title & Promotion Race (1st = World Premier League Promotion)

1️⃣ Vancouver Whitecaps FC – 60 pts
Vancouver stay top of the table and in the automatic promotion spot. Their consistency keeps them narrowly ahead in what is becoming a three-team race.

2️⃣ Chankas CYC – 59 pts
Just one point behind, Chankas remain firmly in contention. Any slip from Vancouver could see a change at the summit next round.

3️⃣ AC Milan – 57 pts
AC Milan continue applying pressure. Only three points separate 1st and 3rd — the promotion battle is wide open.

🎯 Playoff Zone (2nd–9th)

The playoff spots remain tightly contested:

  1. Pachuca – 54 pts

  2. F.C. Copenhagen – 53 pts

  3. Fulham – 51 pts

  4. Caracas FC – 48 pts ⬆️ (+1)

  5. Botafogo – 47 pts ⬇️ (-1)

  6. Fortaleza – 45 pts

Caracas climb into 7th, while Botafogo slip one place. Fortaleza hold the final playoff spot but have Ajax closing in fast.

🏆 Outside Spots With Incentives

10️⃣ Ajax – 44 pts
Currently in the Friendly Cup qualification position. They’re just one point off the playoffs — striking distance.

11️⃣ Atlético Indio – 43 pts
Holding the King’s Cup spot, but they are only one point behind Ajax and two behind the playoffs. Very much alive in the race.

📉 Lower Midtable Watch

  • Bahia rise three spots to 16th — a significant move upward.

  • 2 de Mayo drop to 17th.

  • Olympiakos fall two places to 19th.

  • Dalian Shide climb to 20th.

  • FC Midtjylland slip to 22nd.

Momentum swings are starting to matter as we approach the final third of the season.

🚨 Relegation Zone (Bottom 2 → League III)

23️⃣ Raja – 18 pts
24️⃣ Watford FC – 17 pts

Both remain in serious danger. With 19 rounds left, survival is still mathematically possible — but form must improve immediately.

🔥 Key Storylines After Round 27

  • Only 3 points separate 1st from 3rd in the promotion race.

  • The playoff cutoff (9th) and 11th place are separated by just 2 points.

  • The relegation battle is tightening, with several teams within reach of the bottom two.

With 19 rounds remaining, every point is becoming critical — especially for teams hovering around 9th–12th and those fighting to escape the drop.

Round 28 could bring major shifts at both ends of the table.
