League II 2026 Group A Round 32 Recap

League 2 – Group A | 2026 Season – Round 32 Recap

With 32 of 46 rounds completed, the promotion race and playoff battle in Group A is becoming intense. Teams are beginning to separate into clear tiers: the promotion contenders, the crowded playoff fight, and the clubs trying to escape the relegation zone.

🥇 Promotion Race

Vancouver Whitecaps FC remain firmly in control at the top of the table with 73 points. Their attack continues to dominate the league with 84 goals scored, and their strong recent form (four wins in the last five matches) keeps them comfortably ahead.

Just behind them, Chankas CYC are still pushing hard with 72 points. They boast the most prolific offense in the league (103 goals) and remain within striking distance of first place if Vancouver slips.

AC Milan sits third with 68 points, maintaining steady form and staying in contention should the top two falter. Their consistency keeps them in a strong playoff position.

Pachuca and FC Copenhagen round out the top five with 64 and 63 points, both still mathematically capable of challenging for automatic promotion if they produce a strong run in the remaining rounds.

⚔️ Playoff Battle (Positions 2–9)

The fight for playoff positioning is extremely tight:

  • Caracas FC (61 pts) continue their excellent form and remain securely inside the playoff zone.

  • Botafogo (56 pts) and Atlético Indio (55 pts) are holding their places but cannot afford a slump with several teams close behind.

  • Fulham (53 pts) stays inside the top nine despite inconsistent results.

Every point matters here, as only positions 2 through 9 qualify for the playoffs, and the margins between teams are shrinking.

🏁 Mid-Table Stakes

Ajax (51 pts) currently sits 10th, the position that qualifies for the Friendly Cup. Their recent strong form suggests they could still push into the playoff positions.

Right behind them is Fortaleza (50 pts) in 11th, which would qualify for the King’s Cup if the season ended today. However, they remain close enough to challenge Ajax for that 10th-place spot.

⚠️ Relegation Fight

At the bottom of the table, the battle to avoid the drop is heating up.

  • Dalian Shide (26 pts) and Raja (23 pts) are struggling but still have time to recover.

  • Defence Force (13 pts) sits firmly at the bottom and faces an uphill battle.

Currently, Raja and Defence Force occupy the two relegation spots, which would send them down to League III if they cannot turn things around.

🔥 Key Trends After Round 32

  • Vancouver Whitecaps remain the team to beat for automatic promotion.

  • Chankas CYC’s attack is the most dangerous in the league.

  • The playoff zone from 6th to 10th is extremely tight, meaning a single round could dramatically reshuffle the standings.

  • The relegation battle still has plenty of rounds left, but Defence Force is running out of time.

With 14 rounds remaining, the promotion race, playoff battle, and relegation fight are all far from decided. The coming weeks could completely reshape the table.
