Here’s the recap for Group A after Round 27 of the Premier World League:
Group A – Round 27 Recap
Round 27 brought more clarity at the top while the race for international spots and survival grew even more dramatic.
Cienciano (PER) stay firmly at the top with 67 points after yet another win, showing relentless form with four victories in their last five. Just one point behind, Valencia (SPA) (66 pts) continue to pile on pressure, keeping the title race alive. Universitario (PER) remain in the hunt as well, sitting third with 63 points after extending their unbeaten streak.
Sporting Cristal (PER) (61 pts) and Santa Fe (COL) (56 pts) both secured strong results to stay in the top-five mix, while Barcelona (SPA) (52 pts) hold sixth, but face fierce competition from Hong Kong FC (HK) (51 pts) and Bolognesi (PER) (49 pts), both chasing continental qualification.
The big mover this week was Sport Boys (PER), climbing up to 9th on 47 points after three straight wins, proving themselves as dark horses in the late stages of the campaign.
In the middle of the table, Manchester United (UK) (42 pts) and Arsenal (UK) (41 pts) continue their rivalry for a top-half finish, but both remain far off the pace for continental slots. Meanwhile, San Jose (USA) slipped again, dropping to 13th with 38 points.
At the bottom, the battle for survival looks fierce. Deportivo Saprissa (CTF), Deportivo Pereira (COL), and São Paulo (BRA) are locked at 31–30 points, all fighting to avoid the red zone. Cruz Azul (MEX) and Chelsea (UK) sit dangerously close too, with just 30 and 29 points respectively.
The relegation zone continues to trap Fulham (UK) (27 pts), Aucas (ECU) (25 pts), Olmedo (ECU) (24 pts), Danubio (URU) (22 pts), Southam (UK) (21 pts), and bottom-placed Pegasus (HK) (20 pts), who have now lost five straight and look increasingly doomed.
🔝 Title race: Cienciano, Valencia, and Universitario are separated by just 4 points.
🔥 Continental push: From 5th (Santa Fe) down to 9th (Sport Boys), every point matters.
⚔️ Survival fight: Only 11 points separate 17th from 32nd — chaos at the bottom.
