Premier World League Group A Round 18th Results

Premier World League – Group A Round 18 Recap: Tight Races and Big Climbs

Round 18 of the Premier World League’s Group A was anything but dull, with major shifts in the standings and a few teams making big statements just before the business end of the season.

Santa Fe Still on Top
Colombia’s Santa Fe continues to rule the roost, bagging another three points to cement first place with 58 points. They’ve now built a five-point cushion over second-placed Cienciano, thanks to consistent winning form both home and away.

Cienciano & Valencia Keep Pace
Peruvian side Cienciano stays in second with 53 points, keeping the pressure on. Valencia (Spain) remains a close third on 52 points, moving within striking distance of the top two, despite their recent slip in form.

Sporting Cristal & Hong Kong FC Still Chasing
Sporting Cristal (Peru) is steady in fourth with 50 points, while Hong Kong FC holds onto fifth with 49 points, still a dangerous side in the race for a top spot.

Mid-Table Battles
One of the biggest movers was Barcelona (Spain), who climbed one place to 8th, swapping spots with Deportivo Cali (Colombia), now down to 9th. Bolognesi (Peru) also made a positive jump, moving up two spots to 10th after a strong showing.

Slip-ups and Setbacks
Manchester United dropped a place to 11th, overtaken by the surging Bolognesi. Chelsea slid two positions to 15th, continuing a worrying dip. Meanwhile, Deportivo Pereira inched up to 16th, pushing Feyenoord further down to 17th.

Relegation Zone Drama
In the danger zone, Deportivo Saprissa dropped two places to 19th, while Olmedo climbed a spot to 24th. Southam slid to 28th after losing crucial points. Alianza Lima is still rooted to 31st, and Montreal Impact remains bottom with a miserable 10 points and no away wins all season.

Biggest Climbers & Fallers

  • Climbers: Bolognesi (+2), Olmedo (+1), Deportivo Pereira (+1)

  • Fallers: Deportivo Saprissa (-2), Chelsea (-2), Southam (-2)

The title race and relegation battles are both heating up. The gap between survival and the drop is razor thin, while the top five are still close enough to dream of glory.
