Atlético Nacional Continues Its Climb

River Plate picked up an enormous three points against Emelec in a matchup between playoff contenders. With both clubs sitting comfortably inside the Top 16 entering the round, the result could prove significant later in the season.
Busan I'Park FC continued their impressive start with a dominant 4-1 victory over Chivas. Sitting inside the playoff positions, Busan continues to build momentum toward potentially challenging for a World Cup of Clubs berth.
Perhaps the most entertaining match of the round saw Inter Miami fall 3-2 to Zamalek SC. Both teams entered the match occupying playoff positions, making the result all the more valuable for Zamalek's postseason aspirations.

Survival Fight Produces Important Results
The relegation battle remains incredibly fluid this early in the season. Miami FC earned perhaps the upset of the round, defeating third-ranked New England Revolution 3-2 despite entering the match in Friendly Cup qualification territory.
Gamba Osaka delivered the most dominant performance of Round 9 with a 4-0 victory over Yokohama F. Marinos, strengthening their playoff position while leaving Yokohama rooted near the bottom of the standings.
Kawasaki Frontale earned three crucial points over Columbus Crew in their battle to escape the relegation places. After entering Round 9 ranked 31st, the victory could provide the spark needed to begin climbing the table.
Finally, ACF Fiorentina defeated fellow struggling side Olimpia 3-1 in another important six-point affair between clubs attempting to avoid spending the season fighting relegation.
