League III 2025 Semifinals Group D First Leg Recap and Preview

**League III 2025 Playoffs – Group D Semifinals

Leg 1 Summary & Leg 2 Preview**

LEG 1 SUMMARY

(9) Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU) 1–3 (6) L.D.U. Quito (ECU)

L.D.U. Quito delivered a commanding performance on the road, coming away with a strong 3–1 victory in Uruguay. Plaza Colonia struggled to match Quito’s intensity and movement, conceding twice in quick stretches that shifted control of the match. The lone Plaza Colonia goal keeps the tie from slipping entirely out of reach, but LDU’s two-goal advantage and three away goals put them firmly in the driver’s seat heading into Leg 2.

(4) Blooming (BOL) 3–2 (3) Club Destroyers (BOL)

A thrilling all-Bolivian showdown saw Blooming edge out Destroyers 3–2 in a fast-paced leg. Both teams attacked aggressively, producing one of the most entertaining matches of the semifinals. Blooming’s slight edge gives them a narrow lead, but Destroyers’ two away goals are massive and could play a crucial role in the return match. This tie remains wide open as they head into the decisive second leg.

LEG 2 PREVIEW

(6) L.D.U. Quito (ECU) vs (9) Club Plaza Colonia de Deportes (URU)

Aggregate: LDU Quito 3–1 Plaza Colonia

LDU Quito returns home with a comfortable advantage and three away goals in hand. A disciplined performance should be enough to seal a spot in the final. Their attack looked sharp in Leg 1, and if they score even once at home, Plaza Colonia will face a nearly impossible climb.

Plaza Colonia will need their best performance of the season—at least a two-goal win just to force extra time. They’ll also need to push forward without exposing themselves to LDU’s lethal counterattacks.

Key Question: Can Plaza Colonia find early goals to apply pressure, or will LDU Quito control the match from start to finish?

(3) Club Destroyers (BOL) vs (4) Blooming (BOL)

Aggregate: Blooming 3–2 Destroyers

An intense Bolivian derby continues into Leg 2, and both teams know everything is still to play for. Destroyers return home needing only a one-goal win to advance thanks to their two away goals. Their attack looked threatening in Leg 1, and with home support behind them, they’ll believe they can overturn the deficit.

Blooming arrives with confidence but understands how dangerous Destroyers can be. Protecting the lead while still seeking an away goal will be key. A single Blooming goal would dramatically shift the pressure on Destroyers.

Key Question: Will Destroyers capitalize on their away-goal advantage, or will Blooming finish the job with another strong attacking performance?
